AcessUVa
AccessUVa is not a scholarship offer, but an ambitious financial aid program that combines all-grant loan-free packages for low-income students, caps on loans for middle-income students, and a commitment to meet 100 percent of need for all students accepted at the university. Believed to be the first of its kind nationwide among US public institutions, AccessUVa helped almost 800 students in its first year. To learn more about AccessUVa, visit www.virginia.edu/accessuva, or call toll-free at 1-866-391-0063.

The National Commission for Cooperative Education
The NCCE—a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing high, quality, college-level cooperative education—is offering 113 merit co-op scholarships at a total of $2,260,000. Students can find information about this year’s scholarship program and complete applications by visiting www.co-op.edu.

Wyndham B. Blanton Scholars Forum
Designed to bring together 20 high school history students with nationally renowned history scholars, the eighth Wyndham B. Blanton Scholars Forum will be held next school year from October 19-20, 2006, and features a lecture appearance by David McCullough, award-winning author of 1776. In order to be one of the 20 students, applicants must get two letters of recommendation and complete a four-page research paper on the role George Washington played in the pivotal events of 1776. Applications must be presented to Ms. Boster by September 1, 2006, for consideration.
