Hello!
The objective of the American Sign Language Club is to provide enrichment activities for students who have a special interest in ASL and Deaf culture. The ASL Club at Colonial Forge is comprised of students who are currently taking ASL, deaf and hard of hearing students, or students who have an interest in the language and its people. The members meet once a month (2nd Thursday) to plan activities to enrich the members' knowledge of Deaf culture. The club hosts monthly Silent Snacks, which are an extra credit opportunity for ASL students, as well as a chance for hearing classmates to socialize with deaf peers and practice their signing skills. The club also participates in events with our local deaf community, and raises money to bring deaf performance groups to Colonial Forge. New members are always welcome.
